B.S. - Applied Psychology
My Inspiration:
Willie, my homeless literacy student, who I taught to read his first word at age 65. Watching a feeling of satisfaction come over his face as he read that first word made me never want to take a word I read for granted.
My Perfect Pizza:
Fresh ricotta and black olives
My 'usual' at the local coffee shop:
Caramel latte with soy
Actor/Actress I would cast as me in the story of my life:
Jennifer Aniston. She's Greek, so am I.
A book from class I would never sell back:
Ways of Seeing by John Berger
Three things I have with me at all times:
My chapstick, my planner and my camera.
My favorite study spot at NYU:
Study cubicle at Bobst
Most played CD/MP3:
Rachael Yamagata and Fiona Apple
My best vacation:
Traveling to South Korea really showed me what it's like to be a foreigner. I stuck out everywhere I went and I even offended people with what I thought were normal gestures. It gave me a better perspective for living in New York.
Community service activity I'm most proud of:
Tutoring at the homeless shelter.
I would like to be remembered for my:
Ambition to help people
Most influential person during my college career:
My boyfriend has helped me to open up my creative side which otherwise gets ignored day to day. He has really shown me how to blend creativity with ambition and I think that because of that, the work I do is more fulfilling and of a better quality.
