Undergraduate Student Spotlights

Margo Bodenheimer

Media, Culture, Communication

Community service activity I'm most proud of:
Best Buddies. The program is amazing and I have met so many great people through it and developed friendships with people outside of NYU who I would have otherwise never met.
Dream study abroad location:
Australia because my middle name is Sydney so I've always wanted to visit the city.
Guilty pleasure:
Celebrity gossip. I read way to much of it for anyone's good. I guess that's why it's called a guilty pleasure.
Why I chose this program:
In what other program can you take a history class about television?
Childhood ambition:
To be an artist. Oh how things change.
Biggest challenge:
Affording college. I love NYU but I hate its price.
Hidden talent:
I can solve a Rubiks Cube.
My favorite place to have coffee around NYU:
Dunkin Donuts. While probably not as popular as Starbucks or Think, their caramel iced coffee keeps me going.
A book from class I would never sell back:
The Little Brown Essential Handbook (because I don't know how I would be able to cite my references for papers without it)
My dream job when I graduate:
To work for NBC and bring them up from fourth place back to number 1.
Best vacation:
Going to the Grand Canyon in fourth grade- it was amazing!
I would like to be remembered for my:
Ambition.
Most influential person during my college career at NYU:
Other communications students. I initially entered NYU as a pre-med, biology major in CAS. But I was quite unsatisfied with the program. However, it was students in the communications department who told me about the MCC major which inspired me to transfer.
What I do to de-stress:
Watch Friends. That show never gets old, no matter how many times I watch it.
If I could have lunch with any person, dead or alive, I'd choose:
Michael Cera. I find him to be quite endearing.
