Music Education

What I do to de-stress:
I go to the practice room and sing or watch an episode of Glee or The Office.
I would like to be remembered for my:
Hard work, dedication, and commitment to making our world a better place.
My favorite course at NYU:
Teaching Music in the Elementary Grades with Dr. Cathy Benedict.
Community service activity I'm most proud of:
The summer after I graduated from high school, I went to the Lakota Indian Reservation in South Dakota for culture emersion, community outreach and service. It was the most influencial experience of my entire life.
After I graduate, I:
I plan to attend Graduate school, teach, direct, perform and travel for a few years. One day, I hope to open a Dinner Theater and be the artistic and educational director of a Performing Arts School.
Why I chose this program at NYU Steinhardt:
I wanted to go to school in New York City and study Music Education. NYU Steinhardt offered a great program for me to study music and is in New York City.
A book from class I would never sell back:
My music theory textbooks- I might need them in the future!
My inspiration:
The people in my life
My favorite place to study around NYU:
Washington Square Park
If I took a year off from my current life, I would:
Perform and travel
Prized possession:
My music collection. I want to have a music library in my home one day.
The professor who influenced me the most:
Dr. Megan Besley, my voice teacher
