Media, Culture, and Communication
Community service activity I'm most proud of:
Helping clean up Galveston Beach after Hurricane Ike hit last year
Dream study abroad location:
Downloading iPhone applications. I currently have 8 pages of apps on my phone.
Why I chose this program:
i'm fascinated by how media permeates so much of our society. I don't think anyone could say that media, culture, and communication aren't key parts of our lives and interactions with others.
I can't really pinpoint one, but I probably wanted to be famous. I was that type of kid.
Balancing my time between exploring New York City and still getting all of my work done
I can drive a stick shift.
My favorite place to have coffee around NYU:
The Roasting Plant on 7th Avenue and 11th Street. It's such a cool little place and has the freshest coffee.
A book from class I would never sell back:
"Sitcoms: The 101 Greatest TV Comedies of All Time." This book is going to be the perfect coffee table book when I get my own apartment.
My dream job when I graduate:
To produce or host my own cooking or travel show
My trip around France and The Mediterranean with my family and getting to spend my 18th birthday at EuroDisney
I would like to be remembered for my:
Sense of adventure and humor
Most influential person during my college career at NYU:
My parents and my older brother Nick. They've always been supportive of my decisions and always seem to give the best advice
What I do to de-stress:
I cook. My current obsession is baking cupcakes. i'm lucky to have my loyal roommates to taste-test all of my culinary creations.
If I could have lunch with any person, dead or alive, I'd choose:
Steve Perry, just so I could have him sing some of Journey's greatest hits live for me. I actually named one of my fish after him.
Where you grew up:
Honors, Awards, and Achievements:
Steinhardt Scholars, Dean's List, Former CAS Presidential Honors Scholar, Intern at SWD Production Company in Houston, Admissions Ambassador for NYU
Community Service and Other Activities:
I like to find events that are going on around NYC and help out at those. I've volunteered at different walks and runs and festivals around the city. When I'm in Houston, I volunteer at the Italian Cultural and Community Center.
