Undergraduate Student Spotlights

Elisa Peebles

Media, Culture, and Communication

Three things I have with me at all times:
My NYU ID (can't survive here without it), a notepad to jot down quick thoughts and ideas, and faith that it's all for a reason
My inspiration:
My siblings and Lady Gaga.
My prized possession:
A four leaf clover. Yes, I found a real one.
After I graduate, I:
Plan to follow my heart, so that I am happy with whatever it is I end up doing.
The longest it took me to write a paper:
Two-Three days
Best course at NYU:
Media Criticism
Why I chose this program:
It seemed to have the most interesting take on communication studies than any program offered at my other prospective schools..
Favorite Book (please include author):
Blindness, Jose Saramago
The professor who has influenced me the most:
Noor Al-Qasimi
Most adventurous thing I've ever done:
Fall in love with a senior.
If I took a year off from my current life, I would:
Travel to small towns in the unnoticed regions of the United States by train, work random minimum wage jobs, and journal about what I see, who I meet, and where I go.
Favorite study spot at NYU:
The comfy chairs in the labyrinth that is the lower library.
Worst job I've ever had:
Working at Hollister in the mall.
