Graduate Student Spotlights

Emily Bolton-Blatt

Fast Track Teaching and Learning Sci. Ed. G7-12.

Why I chose this graduate program:
MA in one year, in NYC, happy I chose it b/c of the inquiry methods it teaches students.
A book from class I would never sell back:
Ethic of Excellence by Ron Berger.
Something I collect:
Science/Nature magazines.
Why I went back to graduate school:
To get my degree in Sci. Ed.
The best gift I’ve ever received:
A massage! But seriously, support.
The longest it took me to write a paper:
From the time it was mentioned until the time it was due.
The professor who influenced me the most:
Maura Gouck-she really helped me shape how I want my classroom and school to feel like.
My favorite place to have coffee around NYU:
The park, when weather is nice.
If I could take a year off, I would:
Sleep! If I had money, travel.
My secret (academic) passion:
To be apart of the United Nations.
The best invention in the last 10 years:
Stain-proof fabric.
My inspiration:
Earth
After I graduate, I:
Will teach H.S. Sci. in NYC and get a degree in public policy (MPA).
