Graduate Student Spotlights

Rachel Harvest

Nutrition and Dietetics

Briefly tell us why you chose your program:
I chose Clinical Nutrition for my Masters because I find food and the physiological, social, and psychologically benefits from healthy eating fascinating. I would like to educate people about the benefits healthful, conscientious eating will have on their lives, their longevity, and the prevention of chronic illnesses as they have become rampant in today's world. I have particular interest in starting at the source. A mother's nutritional choices during pregnancy and the choices she makes in the child's early months of life can provide a vibrant, healthy future and make future generation have a better start. I'm also a complete foodie. I love cooking, tasting, and every other part of dining. I suppose this degree will make my "expertise" legitimate!
