Statistical Consulting at NYU

Different schools, colleges, departments and programs have different resources available for their for their students.

NYU provides help and training with a variety of data sources and analytical software packages. Often, graduate students considering a specific aspect of their work use these services to advance the implementation of their research and analysis. Data Services (formerly known as the Data Service Studio) is a joint service of NYU's Division of Libraries and Information Technology Services to support quantitative, qualitative, and geographical research at NYU. Data Services offers a broad portfolio of services in support of all stages of the data and research lifecycle, from finding existing data sets or constructing a survey to using specialized software to complete an analysis, from introductory training to individual consultation on a wide range of software packages and data resources. Data Services also offers a lab on the 5th floor of Bobst Library featuring access to specialty software.

In 2010, some related resources were added through the NYU Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI; http://ctsi.med.nyu.edu/).  The NYU-HHC CTSI provides a wide range of resources to support research at all levels, with particular support provided to junior investigators through training programs and awards to support pilot research projects.  Limited statistical consulting may be available - information is available here

Also, on the ground floors of Stern's Kaufman Management Center and Courant's Warren Weaver Hall (or the Math library), Math and Statistics graduate students may offer their services through a posting on a bulletin board.
