  • reflect on their growth as learner
  • answer questions from peers, teachers and guests about their work and the larger themes connected to their work
You will:
  • engage in interesting conversations with students about what they are learning
  • carefully examine the work presented in their portfolio
  • ask challenging and thoughtful questions
  • give students feedback about their work and their ability to present and defend their ideas
  • give students the opportunity to make their achievement public

Early Career Project for New Teachers

NYU is sponsoring the

Early Career Project especially designed to support you and your colleagues in the early stages of your teaching careers.

What to expect...

  • A series of six (6) sessions:
  • The first session will be held on: Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008, from 4:30 to 6:30

               @ New York University, Kimball Lounge, 246 Greene Street, New York

  • The remaining five (5) sessions will be held at five (5) different school sites. Please select a site which matches your area of certification/grade and is conveniently located near you.
  • We have added a new site for Secondary Math and Science Teachers! We welcome all Math/Science teachers to join us at ESCHS, but please note you also have the option to attend UNHS or INMS sites as well.
  • All six (6) sessions will be held from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM on the dates indicated under each school site.
  • $300 stipend for each participant who attends ALL six (6) sessions
  • Refreshments and raffle

Information Session on Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FASFA)

 All local high school seniors and their parents are invited, but especially those that are connected to community-based organizations and high schools with whom the University has a relationship.

New York University cordially invites high school seniors and their parents to an informational workshop on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASA), which is the form used by the government to determine a student;s eligibility for federal financial aid, including grants, loans, and work study programs. This workshop, led by NYU's director of financial aid, is for students who plan to attend college (any college).

In addition to guidance on filling out the FAFSA, you will:

1) receive information regarding statewide financial aid programs, and

2) learnn about other financial aid resources and how to apply.
