University Neighborhood Middle School students raise awareness on discrimination through LeAp's Public Art Program

UNMS was one of ten NYC schools to participate in the program "A View from the Lunchroom: Students Bring Issues to the Table". In collaboration with a teaching artist, students decorated public lunchtables and benches to illustrate their views on vital issues including discrimination, gun violence, and bullying. The tables can be viewed at parks throughout the five boroughs from June through August.

They will now head to Las Vegas this August for the Hip Hop International competition with participants from 46 nations.
