Single Decision Option for the M.A. and D.P.S.:
We offer this unique admissions option for prospective candidates who would like the opportunity to progress from master's to doctoral work without interrupting their studies.
- Through the 30-credit M.A. program students take a core of graduate level courses in occupational therapy theory, research, and professional skills and select an area of specialization or clinical focus such as pediatrics, mental health, upper quadrant, assistive technology, physical disabilities, or school-based practice.
- The D.P.S. provides 36 credits of advanced study beyond the master's degree. Skilled occupational therapists are prepared to deliver, present, and collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals to provide high quality care. Students are offered two areas of advanced clinical specialization: pediatrics and upper quadrant.
Applicants interested in being considered for the Single Option M.A./D.P.S. program must submit:
- completed application for the post-professional M.A. program (OTTH). A second application for the D.P.S. is not required.
- non-refundable application fee of $75.00
- resume/curriculum vitae
- statement of purpose (indicate that you would like to be considered for the "Single Decision Option")
- transcripts from each postsecondary school attended
- three letters of recommendation
- official GRE scores
- official TOEFL scores from all applicants whose native language is not English and did not receive the equivalent of a 4 year U.S. undergraduate education from an institution where English is the official language of instruction
Prospective candidates should apply to the post-professional M.A. program (OTTH) and be clear in their statement of purpose that they wish to be considered under the "Single Decision Option for the M.A. and D.P.S." In their statement of purpose, applicants should explain their educational and professional goals as they relate to the progression from core to advanced level study.
