Curriculum

Credit Requirements

The curriculum in Nutrition and Food Studies: Nutrition and Dietetics requires completion of 128 points. These are divided into five categories:

New Student Seminar

Students must enroll in New Student Seminar SAHS-UE 1 (0 pts) during the first semester in residence, to review basic college-level skills and to obtain an introduction to NYU's academic and personal resources and services.

Academic Standards

Students in the Nutrition and Dietetics concentration must earn a final grade of C or higher in the following concentration courses: Nutritional Biochemistry, Diet Assessment and Planning, Nutrition & the Life Cycle, Community Nutrition, and Clinical Nutrition Assessment and Intervention. If a student receives a grade lower than a C, that student must re-take the course to improve the grade. Students may only re-take a course once.

Nutrition and Dietetics majors matriculating at NYU in Fall 2014 or later are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to make satisfactory academic progress
