Alumna Tanis Chalopin is a YouTube Sensation

Tanis Chalopin, a recent Film Scoring alumna, released Blackout, her debut EP, in late September. It is a six-track album, comprised of both English and French songs, written, composed, performed, and produced by Tanis. The single "Blackout," has seen noteworthy success on YouTube, with all three versions (English, French, and the remix) attracting over half a million views within the first month of release. The single caught the attention of the French DJ The Toxic Avenger, inspiring him to create a remix that was met with equal acclaim.

Tanis is a French and English music artist, singer, songwriter, photographer, and composer. She first gained recognition when, at the age of 14, she wrote the theme song for the Disney Asia movie Trail of the Panda (2009) during her stay in Beijing. As an engaged global citizen, Tanis considers art and music as vehicles to convey messages of care and hope for the world in which we are living, and more concretely, uses her photography and actions to help fundraising for children in need.

Tanis was recently interviewed in The Straits Times about growing up with famous parents, writer/producer Jean Chalopin and supermodel Ethel Fong, and how she found her own voice in music.

Tanis was also invited as a speaker at TEDxBeacon Street 2016 to talk about her life in music.
