Generations of Double Reeds Players Gather at Annual Concert

On Thursday, March 2, Double Reeds in the Woodwinds program hosted Generations, an annual concert in which faculty, students, and students of students shared the stage.

This year's concert included pieces by Handel, Cohn, Prowning, Rossini, and Beethoven, as well as a performance of Michael Vince’s Water Works, a new work commissioned by NYU Double Reeds and published by Trevco Music Publication.

Each year, Woodwinds students take an active role in programming and organizing the concert, giving them an inside look into what it is like to produce an event at the university level.

This year, Dr. Claude Ghez received The NYU Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Music For Philanthropic Support for his generous funding of the The Claude Ghez Fellowship which exclusively supports Double Reed students at NYU.
