Metro’s Liberty Partnerships Program Gives "Shout-outs" to Stellar Students

The Peer Mentoring Program at Landmark High School, supported by the NYU Liberty Partnerships Program, recently honored students who received "Shout-outs" from Guidance Counselor, Karina Simancas, and NYU Student Mentor/Mentee Trainer, Andrew Marotta.  Students received accolades for reasons including achieving first honors on the school honor roll (95 or better in classroom grades); scoring 85 or more on Regents exams; showing improvement in grades; showing a positive change in behavior; and showing persistence through adverse moments.  One student was recognized for always wearing his "mentoring hat" through leading by example, deescalating a heated moment between 2 others, and avoiding a potential fight.  The NYU Liberty Partnerships Program is eagerly looking forward to more Shout-outs after the end of the next marking period in a couple of weeks!
