Metro College Prep Academy (CPA) Seniors Access College Scholarship Opportunities

Our current seniors have been invited to compete again this year for several Scholarships awarded by the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY).

Categories of the scholarships include academic achievement, overcoming obstacles and the demonstration of leadership in their communities. Winners will be announced in April. Awards are cosponsored by the Big Apple, Dr. Ann A. Kaplan Scholarship fund and total $4500.

This year our alumni will also be invited to apply for the inaugural Michael D. Cobbins Memorial Transfer Student Scholarship, a onetime award of $1000.

This memorial scholarship holds special meaning to our program and alumni.

Mike Cobbins was a staunch advocate for first generation students including those  with disabilities during his tenure with SUNY.  Through his leadership and guidance, many of our Upward Bound Program alumni are proud SUNY graduates!

One summer, while Mr. Cobbins was in NYC completing requirements for one of his graduate degrees, he hosted several student and parent transition to college workshops.  His dedication and contributions live on in the lives of thousands of SUNY graduates.
