The New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE) Holds 40th Anniversary Conference

NYSABE’s 40th Anniversary conference is scheduled for March 2nd to 4th, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza White Plains-Downtown Hotel in White Plains, New York. The theme of the conference is “Families, Practitioners, Partners, and Policy Makers: Fulfilling the Promise of Bilingual Education Together”.  Featured speakers of the conference include: Antonio Alarcón, Milady C. Báez, Lissette Colón-Collins, Evelyn De Jesús, Carmen Fariña, Angélica Infante-Green, Judith Johnson, Metro Center Executive Director Dr. David Kirkland, Dr. Kate Menken, Michael Mulgrew, Lisa Panaro, Dr. Madeline Pérez, Dr. Luis O. Reyes, and Dr. Betty A. Rosa. The presentation topics range from parent involvement and outreach to teaching and supporting diverse student populations in bilingual education. NYSABE views this conference as “a call to action for members of  educational community to strengthen our spirit of collaboration and unity to realize the full potential of bilingual education”. NYSABE is a Metro Center Partner.
