The NYU Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) will participate in the New York Student Aid Alliance Advocacy Day

The NYU Liberty Partnerships Program will participate in the New York Student Aid Alliance Advocacy Day on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.  Students will visit with legislators to thank them for continuing to support the Liberty Partnerships Programs.  This day is an opportunity for students from New York State, faculty, financial aid representatives, opportunity program administrators,  legislators, and higher education policymakers, to come together to show support for student aid funding and higher education. The NYU LPP participated in February 2016.  A sea of people filled the “Well” of the Legislative Office Building at the Empire State Plaza.  There were high school and college students, faculty and staff from across New York State.  Many of them took turns speaking at a microphone to share their stories about the value of state student aid programs. According to Julia Santos, one of NYU LPP students from the Richard Green High School of Teaching, “It was a great opportunity for me.  It was eye-opening to see that I’m not the only one in need of financial aid. I also learned that it’s beneficial to advocate for others.”
