Dr. Lawrence Aber awarded $1,000,000 Lyle Spencer grant from Spencer Foundation

Dr. Lawrence Aber, co-Director of NYU's Global TIES for Children (TIES), and Carly Tubbs Dolan, TIES Associate Director - Conflict-Affected Countries, were recently awarded a Lyle Spencer grant from the Spencer Foundation in the amount of $1,000,000. The project, titled "The Children Cannot Wait: Research Methodologies to Improve the Practice of Education in Conflict-Affected Contexts," leverages an independently funded strategic initiative between the International Rescue Committee and Global TIES to improve educational practices with Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. The researchers will pilot three promising technologies that have potential for addressing challenges to research and education content delivery in conflict-affected contexts.
