Alum Oliver Ionita Hired by Chicago Opera Theater

Oliver Ionita, a 1996 graduate of the Program in Performing Arts Administration, has been appointed the Director of Development by Chicago Opera Theater. Previously, Ionita served as Senior Director for Development and External Affairs at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. He has also worked at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) was founded in 1974 and focuses on new and rarely performed works. COT is a founding resident company of the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park. In addition to its main stage performances, the company reaches further into the community through its education programs in Chicago Public Schools and its renowned Young Artist Program.
