Last night SXSW-Interactive inducted MCC Research Assistant Professor danah boyd into its Hall of Fame. She is only the second person to receive this honor at the festival--the week-long Austin, Texas event featuring conferences and performances in film, interactive media, and music.
"The goal of the SXSW Interactive Festival Hall of Fame is to recognize those trend-setters whose career accomplishments have paved the future of the new media industry. Hall of Fame inductees are essential members of the Interactive community who have made numerous contributions to the underlying SXSW goals of creativity, innovation and inspiration," organizers at SXSW stated.
Boyd reflects on last night's award in a blog piece here.
