"The Incredible Flexible You" Wins Multiple Honors

Phil Galdston, NYU Faculty Songwriter-in-Residence and Master Teacher of Songwriting at NYU Steinhardt's Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, co-wrote and co-produced with Tom Chapin The Incredible Flexible You, the family entertainment pioneer's latest CD. The album accompanies the groundbreaking curriculum, parents’ guide, and storybook series of the same title from Social Thinking™. Designed for 4-7 year-olds facing social behavioral challenges, but appropriate for a general audience, the record was probably the most honored family record of 2013, winning consistently rhapsodic reviews and five major awards: a Gold Award from Parents’ Choice; a Gold Award from Mom’s Choice; a CD of the Year Award from Creative Child Magazine; the Academics’ Choice Smart Media Award; and a Family Choice Award. The CD will be featured again in late 2014, when the second volume of the book package is released. Learn more at www.theincredibleflexibleyou.com.

Galdston’s songs and productions have appeared on over 75 million recordings by a wide range of artists, including Celine Dion, Sheryl Crow, and Beyoncé. At NYU Steinhardt, Galdston teaches in the programs of Music Business and Music Composition, bringing what he calls “the songwriter's sensibility” to both. He curates and moderates the Songwriters Hall of Fame Master Sessions @ NYU, a series of lecture-performances bridging music creators, students, and fans.
