NYU Steinhardt Participation at the 2011 AOTA Conference

This year’s Annual AOTA Conference and Expo took place from April 14-17, in Philadelphia, and Steinhardt Occupational Therapy faculty and alumni were well-represented throughout.

Steinhardt OT alumna Beatriz C. Abreu (PhD, ‘91), delivered the 2011 Eleanor Clarke Slagle lecture, entitled “Accentuate the Positive: Reflections on Empathic Interpersonal Interactions.”  The selection as lecturer is one of the highest honors in occupational therapy, and recognizes an AOTA member who has creatively contributed to the development of the body of knowledge of the profession through research, education, and/or clinical practice.

Members of the Steinhardt OT faculty also participated in a range of lectures and presentations:

 Professor Tsu-Hsin Howe:

  • “Handwriting Clubs: Assessing Efficacy in the Natural Context of an Elementary School,” with K. Roston
