Hacking Palestine

The online edition of Aljazeera features an op-ed piece by Helga Tawil-Souri, in which the MCC professor writes about the attack that brought down the internet and phone networks in the West Bank and Gaza Strip last week. While the Palestinian Authority seeks the perpetrator behind this act of cyber terrorism, Tawil-Souri outlines reasons why the entire Palestinian telecommunications structure—controlled, to a large extent, by the Israeli government—exists in a state of digital occupation.
