Department seeks Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track in Clinical Nutrition - Begins September 2011

The Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Nutrition. The Steinhardt School provides undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of culture, education, and human development, and includes several departments focused on health and health services.

We are seeking candidates with a strong teaching background and experience conducting nutrition research to support our accredited dietetic internships and MS program in clinical nutrition.  Candidates should have practice and research experience in clinical or applied nutrition or nutrition/behavioral education and clinical interventions. Prior experience should complement the existing faculty in nutrition, food studies and public health and expand interdisciplinary collaboration in the Steinhardt School.

Responsibilities: Research and teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics and student advising.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctoral degree and registered dietitian or clinical specialty credentials and a strong commitment to teaching, research and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.  Achieving our department's mission requires this position to support the core nutrition courses and programs in concert with the Steinhardt mission for advancing knowledge in human development and well-being through rigorous research and education.
