Moffat Receives Honorary Degree From the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia
On May 20, 2009, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) presented Dr. Marilyn Moffat, Professor at NYU's Department of Physical Therapy, with an honorary Doctor of Science degree at its 188th Commencement Ceremony.
"It is indeed an extraodinary privilege to be selected as an honorary degree recipient," said Dr. Moffat after receiving a celebratory diploma and hooding from USP President, Philip P. Gerbino, PharmD. She then spoke to USP's graduating class about the current problems of obesity and diabetes facing America and urged that "as professionals, we shall always have the inherent responsibility of identifying the needs ot society and concomitantly devising programs to meet those needs...Each of you in your own way has the ability to shape your destiny and the destiny of your particular profession."
The NYU Department of Physical Therapy congratulates Dr. Moffat on this most presitgious honor.
