Sadoff, Schroeder Collaborate on Documentary on Legendary Animator Chuck Jones

Chuck Jones, legendary animator and creator of such beloved cartoon characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Speedy Gonzalez, Tweetie Pie, and Wile E. Coyote, is the subject of a new television documentary premiering on Turner Classic Movies on Tuesday, March 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Ron Sadoff, Steinhardt associate professor of music, composed the score for "Chuck Jones: Memories of Childhood," which features music by David Schroeder, director of NYU Jazz studies, and his band Combo Nuvo.

The original TCM documentary, created by Oscar-winners John Canemaker and Peggy Stern, features one of the last filmed interviews with Jones. The half-hour documentary also includes clips from Jones' cartoons, along with vintage photographs and new animation based on drawings Jones made during the interview.

Canemaker is a professor at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he directs the Animation Program of the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television.
