Alumni Day 2009

NYU Alumni Day 2009 was a huge success! Thank you to all the alumni who came back to the square to celebrate their connection to their alma mater while catching up with old friends, learning from many of the educational sessions, and visiting with current students.

This year, the Steinhardt Dean's Luncheon took place in the Barney Building, home to the Department of Art and Art Professions and one of NYU's most historic spots. Alumni enjoyed a casual lunch while listening to NYU Jazz and String students, viewing open studios and projects by current Art students, and taking a tour of the building.

Later in the day, alumni celebrated the life and work of famed author and alumnus, the late Frank McCourt. Featured speakers included MCC Professor Terry Moran, Journalist and Writer Pete Hamill, Folklorist and Musician Mick Moloney, and two of McCourt's former students at Stuyvesant High School, John Kwok and Samantha Marchiano.
