Danny Goldberg Speaks to Music Business Students

Recording industry mainstay Danny Goldberg, publicist for Led Zeppelin in the 1970s and Nirvana's manager in the 1990s, gave a wide-ranging interview in front of the undergraduate Music Business class and guests at the Frederick Loewe Theatre on Wednesday, September 17.

Speaking with new Clinical Assistant Professor of Music Business Sam Howard-Spink before a capacity crowd, Goldberg began with a reading from his new book, Bumping Into Geniuses, before the on-stage conversation and questions from students.

Among the many topics addressed were differences in the rock music business between the 1970s and today, Goldberg's relationships with myriad clients from Kurt Cobain to Steve Earle, his roles at major and independent record labels at the height of the industry's glory days, and the role of the artist in today's digital media environment.
