Update on Deadlines and Program Availability
The deadline has now passed for all programs for summer/fall 2008.
A listing of programs that review applications for the spring semester can be found by clicking here.
The online application for spring 2009 will be available sometime in August. The summer/fall 2009 online application will be available September 1, 2008.

New Degree Programs at NYU Steinhardt
- M.A. in Education and Jewish Studies (EDJS) also offers a dual M.A. in Hebrew and Judaic Studies (EJHJ) - new for Fall 2009
- M.A. Dual Certification Program in Educational Theatre, All Grades and Social Studies, 7-12 (ETSS)
- M.A. in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy (ELPA) :: must apply using the paper-based process by May 1, 2008
- Ph.D. in Music Technology (MUTD)
- Ph.D. in Psychology and Social Intervention (PSSI)
- M.A. in Teaching French as a Foreign Language 7-12 :: NYU's first cross-school joint degree with the Graduate School of Arts & Science :: must apply using the paper-based process by May 1, 2008
Programs Not Reviewing Applications
Academic reviews and new opportunities to strengthen programs are currently being explored by the faculty in a handful of programs. We will, therefore, not be reviewing applications in 2008 for the following programs:
- Art in Media - MA (ARSM) – prospective applicants should consider our M.F.A. in Studio Art (ARSA) or our M.A. in Studio Art: Summer Program (ARST)
- Arts & Humanities Education - MA and PhD (AHUM) -- prospective applications should consider ouf M.A. in Art Education program
- Professional Certification Program in Childhood Education (CHEP)
- Dance Education - PhD and EdD (DADE)
- Mathematics Education - PhD (MAEC) – prospective applicants should consider the PhD in Teaching & Learning (TLPD)
- Philosophy of Education - PhD (PHED)
- School Psychology - PhD (SCPT) and Advanced Certificate (PSSP)
Changes to Program Codes and Program Titles
The following changes to program major codes and titles do not appear in the Directory of Programs:
BILE (AdCrt) --> BEPM: Post-Masters Study in Bilingual Education
ENTC (AdCrt) --> TEPM: Post-Masters Study in TESOL in College
TESC (AdCrt) --> TEPB: Post-Baccalaureate Study in TESOL
FLCT (AdCrt) --> FLPM: Post-Masters Study for Teachers of Foreign Languages in College
HIAD (PhD) --> HIPS: Higher & Postsecondary Education
