Music Therapists of the World Unite at Steinhardt for Research Symposium

Steinhardt's Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy held the International Clive Robbins Research Symposium in July. The Center, renowned for its community service in the form of music therapy for children, adolescents and adults, has an advanced training program that attracts professional music therapists both fromthe United States and around the world. The Center's research program conducts and publishes studies, and was the recent recipient of a Steinhardt Art and Culture grant for its project to develop outcome measures for the treatment of autistic children.

Presenters from Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States shared results of current research and discussed how the practice of Nordoff-Robbins music therapy has been a major influence on music therapy research.
