Joshua Aronson Appointed to Minority Student Achievement Network

Joshua Aronson, associate professor in the Department of Applied Psychology, internationally recognized for his research on "stereotype threat" and minority student achievement, has been appointed to serve on the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council's prestigious Strategic Education Research Plan (SERP) Committee. The committee is charged with designing and implementing a 15-year initiative to strengthen K-12 education in the United States. Aronson will be working with SERP's Minority Student Achievement Network, which examines ways of boosting the engagement and performance of disadvantaged students and narrowing the achievement gap.
