First-Year Class Fundraising Drive for AOTA Conference (Spring 2006)

Dear NYU Occupational Therapy Alumni,

We are writing to you on behalf of the occupational therapy graduating class of 2008. As students in our first year, we are looking forward to developing leadership skills and encouraging independent thinking.

As a student body, we would like to send one member of our class to attend the 86th Annual American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Conference from April 27 – April 30 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Attendance at such a conference will enhance the learning experience of not only the individual who attends, but would better our class as a whole, as he or she will be able to forward the new knowledge onto the rest of our class. We believe the attendance of our representative will project a strong message to the occupational therapy community of our dedication and interest in the future of our profession.

We are currently in the process of developing multiple ideas to raise funds for the trip, including selling t-shirts and bags of coffee to NYU alumni and students and holding bake sales. However, these efforts may not be enough. We are estimating the cost of the trip to total around $1000.00, including lodging and airfare.

We would greatly appreciate any donation you can afford. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, shirts are $15 each, and sizes are available in small, medium, and large. Please indicate on your check if your donation is for a shirt and what size you would like.

Please make checks payable to Erin Gregg (First-Year Class Treasurer) and mail to:
