Testing in Schools Underscores Pressure Administrators Face, Tobias Says

Robert Tobias, a former head of testing for the New York City public schools, says school administrators charged with testing face considerable pressures.

“The responsibilities are enormous; testing is the coin of the realm,” he told the New York Sun in a May 31 story. “It gets tremendous publicity, and there’s a lot of pressure to not only get test scores right, but the testing program has expanded quite a bit.”
