Marcelo Suarez-Orozco doubts that enhanced border fencing will halt illegal immigration to the United States from Mexico because the economic opportunities north of the border are much more plentiful.“Everyone knows what you can make in San Jose versus what you can make in Guanajuato," he told Knight-Ridder in a May 30 story. "The dynamic we're currently experiencing today - barring any major economic change - would suggest that incentives for Mexican immigrants to go to the United States will remain more or less intact."
