Program Overview
The Vocal Performance Program offers a three-week intensive workshop during which students explore the field of classical singing from the preparation, interpretation and presentation of art song and arias to techniques for auditions for college, young artist programs, and the business aspects of a life in this field.
The workshop includes both group and individual instruction, including diction and repertoire classes, vocal lessons, coachings, stage movement and Alexander Technique classes as a series of master classes on subjects related to the field. A typical day will include a voice lesson, a coaching, master class and workshop class. Most evenings will be spent in the greatest classroom for the young classical singer: the concert halls and stages of New York City.
The workshop culminates with a showcase presentation in which students perform the material they have been working on in class.
Faculty includes:
Dianna Heldman
Rosa Vento
Scott Murphree
Michael Ricciardone (guest lecturer)
Brian Gill (guest lecturer)
The schedule will include daily private lessons, vocal coachings with an accompanist, master classes and Performance/Analysis classes.
For more information, please contact Dianna Heldman.
