In order to successfully complete the dual BM/MM in music technology, you are expected to:
- Complete the 128 credits required for the bachelor’s degree by the end of the spring of your senior year
- Pass at least four master's-level courses with a grade of C or better by the beginning of the fall of your fifth year of study. These courses will not count toward the 128 credits required for the bachelor's degree, but will count towards the 32 credits required for the master's degree.
- The 32 master's program credits must include the following courses (a total of 13 credits): Fundamentals of Digital Signal Theory (3 credits) and laboratory (1 credit), Advanced Computer Music Composition (3 credits), a graduate-level cognate class (3 credits) and the Music Technology Colloquy (3 credits); and can include up to 1 credit of performance ensemble. If necessary, the thesis defense can be scheduled for the fall of your sixth year, as long as all other coursework has been completed.
