Corey Rubel is in his second semester at NYU as an educational theatre student. Outside of NYU, Corey is a teaching artist for both George Street Playhouse and Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey. Over the past few years, Corey has directed a large amount of youth musicals and is currently the Youth Program Director at Villagers Theatre in Somerset, NJ, where he directs two workshops; one designed for third through eighth grades and one for ninth through twelfth grades. Corey chose to obtain his master's in educational theatre at NYU in pursuit of a career in an education department at a regional theatre, designing new programs to both integrate theatre into public school settings and to take place outside of school. The NYU Educational Theatre community has been such a supporting and welcoming community that encourages risks and new ideas.
