Lyssa Deehan is an Educational Theater and English graduate student and writer/director/actor from the great state of Vermont. She currently works at MCC Theater as their Education & Outreach Assistant and Assistant Director of the new GW Satellite Youth Company in Washington Heights. Lyssa holds a B.A. in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, where she performed in faculty-directed productions of Some Girl(s) and To Pieces, and wrote and directed a senior adaptation project called The Quickening. Lyssa lived a few different lives before arriving at NYU, but the most important thing she's done as an artist and educator was sling on a backpack and travel the world. She has a lot of interests, from Shakespeare to Hip Hop, and she's grateful to the NYU program for giving her the opportunity to combine and play with all of them. She hopes to someday create a classroom where others can do the same.
