Kate Amrine is a sophomore at NYU
Steinhardt pursuing a B.M. in Trumpet Performance. She has studied with Thomas
Hoyt, Jeremy Pelt, Laurie Frink, Chris Gekker, Billy Harper, Paul Carr, Jeff
Jarvis, Jamey Aebersold, Terrell Stafford, and Chris Sala. Kate has played with
Randy Brecker, Leon “Kid Chocolate” Brown, the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra,
Doreen Ketchens, Cecil McBee, Rufus Reid, Kenny Rittenhouse, Brad Linde, Alex
Norris, Walt Weiskopf, and Thee Phantom. Kate is a member of several ensembles
within NYU including Symphony Orchestra, Brass Choir, and various chamber groups.
In the NYC area, she participates in various ensembles including Billy Harper’s
Voices. Kate is also involved in the pit orchestras for musical theatre productions
including Sweet Smell of Success (2011), Sweeney Todd (2010), and Die
Fledermaus (2010). She has performed at various NYC venues including Carnegie
Hall, Frederick Loewe Theatre, Skirball Center for Performing Arts, Bowery Poetry Club, Tutuma Social Club, Zinc Bar, and
Spike Hill. In addition, Kate works as Personal Assistant to Jeremy Pelt and
was recently Tour Manager for the Jeremy Pelt Quintet’s tour throughout France,
Germany, Austria, and Turkey.
