Andreas Bongard is a first year Master’s candidate in the Program in Vocal Performance studying music theatre in the studio of Michael Ricciardone. He received his BFA in music theatre from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany where he studied voice with Noelle Turner. Andreas is also a voice teacher, certified by the German National Association of Voice Teachers (BDG).
In Europe he has appeared professionally as Claude in Hair, Dick in High Fidelity (European Premiere), Dusoleil in Amour (German Premiere), and Rodney Hatch in One Touch of Venus. Other credits include Schroeder in You´re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Radames in Aida.
As a soloist he has been involved in CD recordings and TV productions. At the German Rock and Pop Music Awards in 2007 he received first prize as “Best Musical Theatre Singer” and the second prize as “Best Pop Singer”. He has participated in several master classes worldwide, one where he worked with Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown.
At NYU he has recently been seen in City of Angels (Luther/Werner/Yamato) under Director John Simpkins. Andreas is proud to be a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
