Internationally acclaimed NYU Piano faculty member Martin Canin, serving on the NYU piano faculty since 1997, studied piano with Aurelio Giorni, Robert Scholz, Olga Samaroff and Rosina Lhevinne and music analysis with Stephan Wolpe. Prof. Canin was the winner of the Loeb Prize and the National Music League Award. He has perfomed in numerous chamber music recitals and as a soloist with orchestras in Europe, the United States, and Japan. He has given master classes and lectures throughout the United States, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Australia. He is a contributing editor to The Piano Quarterly and has edited piano works for Editions Salabert. Prof. Canin was on the faculty of the Teachers College, Columbia University (1959-76). He is one of the most sought-after piano pedagogues in the world.
