Jazz Faculty: Dafnis Prieto

Dafnis Prieto, Jazz Percussion Faculty

A native of Santa Clara, Cuba, Dafnis Prieto developed his musical
skills attending the National School of Art in Havana, receiving
training in classical, Afro-Cuban, jazz and world music. Professor
Prieto has performed with many great jazz artists including Branford
Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Arturo Sandoval, Roy Hargrove, Dave Samuels,
Claudia Acuña, Don Byron, Steve Coleman, Henry Threadgill, and Eddie
Palmieri.

Currently Professor Prieto is a member of both the Michel Camilo Trio
and the Chucho Valdez Quartet. Dafnis Prieto endorsements are
advertised by Yamaha Drums, Zildjian Cymbals and Sticks, and LP
Percussion.
