In addition to our multiple departmental performance and rehearsal spaces delineated below, we utilize diverse facilities and performance venues in New York City with regular performances at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, Tenri Hall, selected Broadway and off-Broadway theatres, and acclaimed jazz clubs.

Music Technology Studios
Highlights of the Music Technology Program's facilities includes twelve recording and computer music studios, and a number of concert opportunities.
Frederick Loewe Theatre
The Frederick Loewe Theatre (298 seats) is a traditional proscenium-style theater in which the Department presents mainstage musicals, orchestral concerts, and operas as well as chamber concerts, choral presentations, dance, new music, and music technology performances, among other offerings.
Provincetown Playhouse
The historic Provincetown Playhouse (88 seats) is credited with launching the careers of Anne Bancroft, Julie Harris and Eugene O'Neill, who premiered many of his early plays at the Provincetown. The Department presents readings, new musical works, and storytelling evenings, among other events and performances in the Playhouse. It is also used a classroom for larger classes.
Black Box Theatre
The Black Box Theatre (74 Seats) is an open and flexible performance space that is used for intimate productions including plays, chamber operas, cabaret performances, and graduate student recitals. It is also used for movement and acting classes.

Three dance studios at 35 West 4th Street
NYU Percussion Studies, housed in the Percussion Penthouse Suite, offers over 2500 square feet of dedicated rehearsal space as well as numerous individual practice studios. The newly acquired NYU Percussion instruments collection represents one of the most formidable acquisitions of high-end percussion instruments anywhere.

The Kimmel Center, a facility that opened in Fall 2003, houses eighteen acoustically treated practice rooms, rehearsal rooms, a recital hall, chamber music spaces, the five hundred forty seat Eisner-Lubin auditorium, and the state-of-the-art Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The Skirball Center includes a magnificent theater with close to 900 seats in which we present symphony orchestra concerts, music theatre and opera productions, department-wide meetings and special events.
Kimmel resources available to our students include 18 practice rooms, four large ensemble rooms, the Shorin Recital Room (150 movable seats), the Eisner-Lubin Auditorium (540 seats), the Skirball Theatre (862 seats), a dance studio, and a dozen flexible rehearsal spaces, including one rehearsal space that matches the exact dimension of the Skirball Theatre stage.
