The Content Core in music combines pedagogy with content so that students acquire musical knowledge and skills in the content of good pedagogical practice. Thus students study repertoire that will be suitable for their teaching as well as adding to their knowledge of music. As they acquire materials, they also acquire pedagogical techniques and methods.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

Students must complete one semester of CPT through assigned practicum experiences at approved community institutions or sites. The CPT requirement can also be satisfied by registering for MPAIA-GE.2031 for special assignments at sites in addition to required course activities. CPT requirements can also be met through MPAIA-GE.2052 Community Music in course related internships.
