Dance Education Program Coordinator



Frederick Curry is Coordinator of the Dance Education Program Office at NYU where he also teaches Beginning Ballet and Intermediate Modern Technique and Pedagogy.

Frederick has been on the faculty at Regional Center for the Arts, Trollwood Performing Arts School, Swiss Youth Dance Festival, Laban Youth Dance Platform, and the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Creating Original Opera In-School Residency Program. He has danced professionally with New York-based choreographers Rod Rodgers, Rose-Marie Guiraud, Cathy Ward, Renata Celichowska, Phyllis Rose and Elinor Coleman. His New York theatrical credits include leading roles in The Vengeance of Mami Wata and Owl in Love. His choreography has been presented at Merkin Concert Hall, The Bridge, La Mama etc., and Dance Space in New York, and at the Bonnie Bird Theatre in London.

Frederick holds an MA in Dance Education from NYU, a B.A. in Communications from the University of Alabama, and a Professional Diploma in Community Dance from Laban Centre London.
