Glenn Frey was a guest at the second Songwriters Hall of Fame Master Sessions at NYU on October 25, 2011. The event was held at NYU’s Frederick Loewe Theatre.
Frey is one of the world’s most admired and respected songwriter/artists, both as a solo artist and for his work as co-founder and seminal songwriter for the Eagles. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2000, and along with the Eagles, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
The Master Sessions are part lecture, part performance, and part in-depth interview, concluding with a Q&A. The Master Sessions are organized and moderated by Grammy-nominated songwriter Phil Galdston (Save the Best for Last), a member of NYU’s Artists’ Faculty for five years. He has also just been named the first member of the School’s songwriting faculty, as well as Songwriter-in-Residence. His work at Steinhardt includes the development of a soon-to-be-announced Concentration in Songwriting, as part of the graduate Music Composition program.
