The World Percussion Ensemble will explore the art of playing the Frame Drum by focusing on the musical traditions of the Middle East and South India. The students will also learn the vocalization techniques, or bols, used in South Indian music to facilitate the learning process. Along with the frame drum, the class will focus on performance techniques of the Kanjira, Riq,
and Darbuka. This class meets once a week, from 12:30-1:50, the beginning section on Wednesday and the advanced section on Thursday. Participation is determined by the instructor.
