*The last audition date for undergraduate freshman applicants is March 2. The last audition date for undergraduate transfer applicants is April 12.
**Note: All fall semester Masters and Advanced Certificate applicants who wish to be considered for talent-based scholarship awards must (1) submit their application materials by January 6 (2) complete their audition by the first weekend of March. U.S. students should also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1 to be considered for student loans and other school-based scholarships.

Undergraduates: Bring a 300-500 word essay to the audition. The essay needs to address the following: Consider a significant issue in education and reflect on its importance to you as a teacher/learner. As you consider an issue develop an argument that addresses some of the following aspects of education:
-curriculum development
-teaching practices
-assessment
-race/class/gender
-the role of education/music education in society

Educational Theatre In addition to the November 10th open audition date (see top of page), the following dates will apply for Ed. Theatre. Dates below for undergraduates only. All Ed Theatre auditions begin as group audition at 1 pm. (Auditions are not required for the graduate program)
You will be asked to present a monologue, about 2 minutes in length. It should be a piece that you feel comfortable with. Then a group audition will entail some improvisation and drama work. We will then have a group discussion/interview about the Program in Educational Theatre and your interest in applying.

ABT program audition Sunday, January 27, 10 am - afternoon
Auditions are required for entrance to the MA degree program in Dance Education. Please attend our spring audition: Saturday February 23, 2008, 10 AM- 3PM, 35 West 4th Street, room 304. For more information or to reserve a place at the audition, call Frederick Curry, 212 998 5400. Those unable to attend, please send a DVD or VHS to Frederick Curry, Dance Education Program, 35 West Fourth Street, NYU, New York, NY 10013. The tape should include a clear visual of you dancing, any style.
