Our Fall Undergraduate Open House Information Session and Undergraduate Audition Day is held each November. The Open House is a great opportunity to hear about our programs and ask questions, as well as an opportunity for early decision applicants to audition in person. Learn more about the early decision process.
All prospective and transfer students must first submit an application for admission to the NYU Steinhardt before scheduling an audition, unless you are attending the Fall Open House. Learn more about the application process and apply for undergraduate study.
The Musical Theatre, Classical Voice, and String Studies programs require submission of pre-screening videos via GetAcceptd. Also, prospective students who are unable to audition in person may submit an audition video online via GetAcceptd.
If you have any questions regarding the admissions process, please contact 212-998-5424.

Note for Prospective Transfer Students
Though NYU's deadline for Spring transfer admission is November 1 and our deadline for Summer/Fall transfer admission is April 1, we suggest that you submit your Common Application one month in advance. Submitting early will leave you more time to prepare your artistic review credentials, such as a composition portfolio and, if applicable, schedule an audition. For more information, be sure to consult the audition requirements for your program of interest (see links at the top of this page).
All prospective students must apply for admissions online, through the Office of Graduate Admissions. See the Application Guide for instructions on how to apply, as well as program-specific deadlines and requirements.
Many master’s and advanced certificate programs follow these application deadlines:
Deadline for Summer/Fall Entry: January 6
Deadline for Spring Entry: October 1
Application Information for Doctoral Applicants
Doctoral candidates should visit the doctoral page for audition instructions and contact the program director directly for before applying.
Deadline for PhD and EdD programs (Fall entry only): December 1
