Thank you for a wonderful Open House. This year on Saturday, November 12, 2011 we held our annual Undergraduate Open House Information Session & Audition Day. Please read the Open House details below. Over the summer we will announce our November 2012 date (usually the second Saturday of November).
Open House Details:
Plan to arrive at 35 West 4th Street, NYC (near the southeast corner of Washington Square Park) between 8:45 and 9:15 am. Students (and their families) may opt to only attend the morning info session and campus tour and not audition. Afternoon auditions on November 12 are optional; early decision candidates who have submitted their application by the November 1 deadline, may use this date to complete a live audition.
The Director of Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts and the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions will provide a very important and informative morning Welcome Session at 9:30 am with details about music and performing arts studies at NYU, admissions, financial aid, housing, career opportunities and more. This morning welcome session will include a Q & A which all auditionees and parents should attend.
Auditions then start after 11:00 am and will be scheduled upon arrival, with the exception of Vocal Performance students who will be contacted in advance for a specific audition time. Audition times will accommodate travel/time constraints whenever possible. Practice rooms and warm-up time will be provided; amplifiers will be provided for Jazz Performance auditions. Music Business and Music Technology students do not audition on November 12. After the morning session, business and tech students and parents will meet with the program director and current students for a targeted information session.
